David Ayers is Arthur M. Pappas Professor of Orthopaedics, Chair of the Department of Orthopedics and Physical Rehabilitation, and Medical Director of the Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence at University of Massachusetts Medical School, as well as Orthopedist-in-Chief at University of Massachusetts Memorial Health Care System in Worcester, MA. In addition, Ayers is chair of the Steering Committee of FORCE TJR and the lead orthopedic surgeon with the group. With Dr. Franklin, he led the development of several department-based clinical registries that uniquely include patient-reported outcomes in TJR, spine, and hand and upper extremity.
Patricia Franklin serves as Professor of Orthopedics and Physical Rehabilitation and Executive Director of Research, Musculoskeletal Center of Excellence, at University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA. Following a residency in Preventive Medicine, she completed a fellowship in Health Services Research emphasizing large database design and analysis and inter-disciplinary chronic care models. This training laid the foundation for a career in quality improvement (Medical Director for Quality) and outcomes research. She is the Principal Investigator for the FORCE-TJR research registry and has served as PI of research funded by NIH (NIAMS, NLM), AHRQ, RWJF, and other foundations.
Hua Zheng is Assistant Professor of Orthopedics and Physical Rehabilitation at University of Massachusetts Medical School. After completing a PhD in computer science and biomedical engineering, she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in clinical informatics supporting the outcome registries at UMass and the FORCE-TJR national database. Her innovative work focuses on user interface design and database function to process and present real-time data to inform clinical practice.
Quality Reporting Lead
Celeste Lemay leads the quality and regulatory programs including reporting to sites for internal quality monitoring and external monitors such as the CMS Qualified Clinical Data Registry and Patient Quality Reporting System. She is instructor in medicine and has a long career in research of evidence based clinical practice and outcomes.
Director of QI Services
Stephanie will focus on developing FORCE’s growing suite of quality improvement tools and supporting the implementation of these products at member sites. As always, FORCE data meet the regulatory reporting needs of hospitals and surgeons, while also supporting continuous improvement in quality and value.
Stephanie completed her medical and research training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and comes to FORCE after gaining valuable experience in value-based health care and outcomes measurement as a Director of Standardization and Benchmarking at the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM).
National Account Manager, Membership Services
Maria C. Polsinelli is national manager for membership services. Prior to joining FORCE-TJR, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry. She has extensive hospital sales expertise across the spectrum of account selling, and management. She specializes in initial customer relations and ongoing interfacing with clients to maximize service. Prior to her sales experience she worked as a Certified Athletic Trainer in Orthopedic offices in Syracuse, New York.
